If you (also called the Petitioner) are trying to help a family member (the Beneficiary) get into the United States, you may need to prove your relationship through DNA evidence if other evidence (birth certificate, school records, etc.) is insufficient.

DNA testing is the most accurate and conclusive method of verifying biological relationships and local labs offer a conclusive and affordable option.

The process is very simple and easy. It starts by taking saliva samples to obtain DNA from both people. An analysis of each person’s DNA can be used to help pinpoint the exact “genetic markers” form each person. Then the DNA of the beneficiary is analyzed to determine the probability that the genetic markers are found in the petitioner. This is known as a percentage of probability of paternity.

NOTE: With the Immigration DNA Test, additional costs will be incurred for the collection of the DNA sample from the person who is in the foreign country. This cost is incurred based upon the embassy to which the sample will be collected and should be paid at the time of DNA collection in that country.
